How To Make Water Effect In You Train Layout

Here is a fantastic model train video where they show you how to make a water effect anywhere in your model train layout.  If you are like me you have struggled with this effect in the past.  Every time I had made a water effect in the past with other water effect products I used, once cured it had that annoying concave meniscus forming along the edges which completely took away the realism of the water like I was going for (you don’t really see water curving up along a river bed or lake).

Do I replace my horn-hook train couplers with knuckle couplers?

If you have horn-hook train couplers on your model train then this question needs to have ran across your mind often. Do I replace my horn-hook couplers with knuckle couplers? The reason to do so is that knuckle couplers are much more realistic than horn-hook couplers and there is no way that they can be uncoupled by a magnet.

Nowadays many locomotives come installed with knuckle couplers. But if your system is a little old, you need to install knuckle couplers on to your locomotives. However, if your old horn-hook couplers are working perfectly fine, then there is no compulsion to buy the newer ones. But if you want to see some improvement in performance, you can go for them.
